It's interesting about the pull-ups. My son(now at CGA) is a top weightlifter and all-around athlete who has a lot of trouble with them. I guess upper-body strength isn't everything...he just missed the Blue Star(for fitness) by a few points due to lacking in this category. Must be something physiological going on here.

Has anyone else gotten their CFA score? ALO told S his was ~440 out of 600 with:

BB throw: 69'
Pull-ups: 16
Shuttle: 7.9
Sit-up: 85
Push-up: 73
Mile: 7:00

Not sure how the score translates to average or above average.

Average overall is a score of 300. Think about it, the minimums are worth 25 pts, average worth 50, and max worth 100. Then approximate since we don't receive their scoring sheets.

A heavier guy won't do as well on Pull-ups. Simple as that. It also takes a lot of repititon, I worked from 6 to 11 in two months with off and on practice.

My thinking was that since most of you are in such great shape - the "average" would be much higher than 300. But who knows - it's all about doing the best you can.

Actually, not everyone does that well or the averages wouldn't be where they are. Look at me, I barely meet minimum on 2 of them. Looking at the scores other people get on this board is discouraging to me....or encouraging? lol. Either way, the official average is 300.

honetguy - not to worry - you seem to be doing just fine. Hang in there!

Thanks. It's exhilirating as I finish. I will send everything (senators, congressmen, air force packet) out by Friday. The thought of the process nearly being complete is strange. Waiting will be a killer!

Remember - make copies!

How do you get your CFA score?

Talk with your ALO.

"How do you get your CFA score?"

Practice baby, practice!

You won't ever know the score's point value.

I never thought you could make too many copies, I know otherwise with my parents. :D But better than losing anything!

falconhopeful06 - you're exactly right. Plus it's only a small part of your overall score anyway.

Copies and certified mail - the college applicant's best friends...

Fortunately, you can get a very rough idea of how you scored based on the cadet standards and how they score.
