Has anyone taken the class CGS2531 Problem Solving Using Computer Software? Im interested in Computer Science so I want to try a CS class to see how I like it but I looked up the professor on the RMP site and the reviews were far from good. It said the teacher doesn't use his office hours and the TA's are just as confused as the students. It also said that the software isn't even compatible with a Mac (which is what I have).

Anyone else taking or that has taken this class that can lend a little advice?? Thanks.

As far as I know, CGS2531 is designed for business majors, and is like “intro to microsoft office”. It’s essentially pointless and nobody likes it (I had a friend who hated it with every fiber of his being). It isn’t even on the computer science degree audit (so it wouldn’t really apply to any requirements for a comp sci major.) I’d say pick a better course if you’re interested in comp sci.

Good point. I won’t take that class unless required. I will look at the CS requirements and pick a better class. I wish I had taken AP Comp Sci in highschool when I had that chance to test it out. Thanks, Zaersz.
