which professor could you expect to get a higher grade with?

I’m trying to figure out the same thing. I’m signed up for Sutcliffe right now on the wait list for sparks. Mccord seemed to be the hardest of the 3.

Same, I am registered for Sutcliffe and on a waitlist for Sparks…any other comments?

I’m doing Sutcliffe as well, 8-9:30 Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Yayyy! Same

Sutcliffe has very generous extra credit options, I have not heard the same about McCord and I know nothing about Sparks. I thoroughly enjoyed Sutcliffe - if y’all stick with her you won’t be sorry.

Anyone know anything about Sparks?

Sundoll how are Sutcliffe’s tests? Are they easy as long as you study the book/notes and practice? Or does she put questions that you generally haven’t seen before and have to figure it out as you go?

Sutcliffe does purely MC tests generated from Quest, and since that’s where the homework is done, it’s usually very similar and not a ton of curve balls. I will say that the tests themselves usually had less problems to work out with equations, etc., than the homeworks did - tests were usually at least half if not 2/3 theory, which I’m sure is to save time since a lot of math problems could put many students way over the 2 hours time limit (she has the exams at night). I wouldn’t call them easy, but in comparison to what I’ve seen from other teachers, i.e. combination MC, short answer, and fill in the blank, they appeared easier. I think it depends on the type of test taker you are - if you like MC then you’ll like the Quest format.

The problem with the majority of the CNS tests I’ve had thus far is that they are relatively short, so you can only miss a few questions to still get an A. Sutcliffe allows you to replace a low test with the final, or if you don’t want to take the final and are happy with your other test scores, you don’t have to take it. Not sure what other instructor’s policies are on this. Also, she doesn’t give you a lot of practice materials other than the weekly homeworks and a few handouts, so I got a lot of practice quizzes and exams from other students and professor’s websites (which was actually her suggestion, so why she doesn’t provide them herself I don’t know).

Can anyone comment on Sparks? Should I accept a spot on the waiting list over Sutcliffe?

yea id like some info on sparks as well.

I’d like to know more about McCord.
