Good evening everyone,
I just completed my summer courses, and had something very odd happen to me. I had two classes, and I am sure to keep track of my grades so that I can keep them at an A- or higher. I had a very easy online computing class that I just completed that only required 2 discussion post (worth 10% of my grade) and 4 exams (worth 90% of my grade). Before I took my final exam, my scores were 0/5 (the discussion post that I missed because I did not have an access code to complete the post until the day after it was due, it was my fault), 5/5 (another discussion post) 100/100 (exam) 97/100 (exam) 99/100 (exam). This left me with a overall grade of approximately 94% which is an A+.
Now, the site we use to take online exams, my professor has blocked us from viewing scores until the next day, therefore my final exam, I could not see. The next day, I received an email saying that my exam was graded, but then our online class was disabled by the professor, So I still could not see what the final grade for my exam was. I reviewed my final grade she submitted for my transcripts and I have a B- in this class, which I believe is impossible, unless I bombed the final which I highly doubt I did.
How do I go about disputing the grade? I know my professor’s name, but I don’t have a way to email her, because the online class is disabled and the syllabus was not downloadable, only accessible through the website, so her phone number I do not have. I’ve emailed my academic advisor with my concerns. Do I just wait from here?
I just really need clarification on the grades and proof that I actually did well! I have the email from my professor saying how great my performance was in the class, but it doesn’t display grades. I don’t have any proof besides, what I know from tracking my grades.
If you have the email from the professor, then just send a nice email expressing surprise at your grade and asking the prof to check it again. Mistakes happen. Tell the prof the grades you know of and ask for the grade on the final. No need to be shy.
Contact the organization you took the online course through and try to get to the professor that way. You are entitled to know your final exam grade and that your final grade is correct.
I misread this about whether you have the prof’s email address. But definitely follow up.
