Hi!

I'm a third yr CC student planning to transfer as a chemical engineering major.
I have a 3.28 overall GPA. I definitely could have done better in my first year. I got C's on Calc II, Calc III, Physics (mechanics), and OChem I. I've definitely improved and gotten mostly As and few Bs since the spring of my second year.

I've postponed my plan on transferring this year due to some family issues I need to take care of. Unfortunately, this was the year UCSD decided to bump up their TAG GPA to 3.5. So now, I'm looking for other schools to transfer to outside my local area (SDSU does not have Chemical Engineering).

First, do you think it is still plausible to apply to UCSD as non-tag? I would think that the budget cuts would only allow them to take the TAG applicants.

Second, my other options are:
UCSB
Cal Poly Pomona
SJSU
UC Riverside

I like all these schools for different reasons. But which of these schools do I have a legitimate chance of getting into?

Thanks for all the responses.
