After HS I took a semester off to travel and volunteer. I travelled to the Philippines and shadowed doctors and worked with the Red Cross. I am currently a freshman at a community college but have caught up and by this fall I will be recognized as a sophomore.

I'm pursing a career in medicine, and have already been certified as a NYS EMT-B.

SAT and ACT: Never Taken
HS GPA: 87
College GPA: 4.0 UW

HS: All Honors Classes
Key Club, Asian Club (President), Marching Band (CG Capt. 2 years), Spring Musical, Ambulance Junior Corps.

College:
Bio Club, Literary Magazine, Phi Theta Kappa, Phi Sigma Omicron, Student Activities Board, Students for Sustainability, Dean's List

Volunteering:
Volunteer EMT (12-24 Hrs/Month), Red Cross, Marching Band, Child Life Volunteer for a Hospital (16+ Hrs/Month) -- I also shadow doctors,
**Soon to be with the Big Sister/Big Brother program and the YMCA

Schools I'm considering:
UMD - Physiology and Neurobiology
Columbia - Neuroscience and Behavior
UPenn - BIBB
Tufts - Bio-Psychology

Any other suggestions for schools? Because I really don't know where I want to apply because I'm afraid that the semester off might be reflected upon negatively. As for the lack of SATs and ACTs, I'm taking the ACTs in the fall.

THANKS A BUNCH!
