Princeton University

MIT

Purdue University

Washington University in St. Louis

Northwestern University

Bump bump…plz!!!

You are obviously well qualified just a few things. I wouldn’t put that your 4x8 came 4th at an invitational, unless it was a really prestigious one (Texas Relays, Penn Relays, Dartmouth Relays, etc). I think youll get into Rice, Cornell, CMU,GTech, and Purdue. The others are more of crap shoots, and if you apply RD to Northwestern I think it will be tough and MIT and Princeton are really crap shoots.
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1191394-will-i-competitive-duke.html

Sorry, I dont chance Republicans.

Just kidding lol. To be honest, all of those schools are very tough with that GPA. You’ll orobably get into Purdue and GaTech if you’re in-state. The others are definite reaches, but worth applying to if you’re really interested in them. Make your app look good, write a good, essay, and get good recs.

Your extra curriculars are truly spectacular. Wow, I thought I did a lot but then I saw your list! Your test scores are really good and you have good extra curriculars so those will definitely help you. Your GPA will hurt you a lot but you can explain to the admissions dean or whoever WHY you had trouble. Also if you have an upward curve they love that. If you want to go to Rice or GA Tech for engineering it might be hard just because they’re such competitive and renown engineering schools. But you have a good chance there I think. MIT is pretty impossible for most people just because they’re rated number one engineering school practically every year. And so I feel like that school is a reach. Princeton, Northwestern and Cornell will definitely be reaches but you need some reaches in your list because you never know you could get in. And I think they would be hard to get into but it’s still possible. I’m not sure about Carnegie just because I know it’s Compsci school is competitive but I’m not certain about its engineering school in general. It’s a tough school but I feel like you have a pretty good chance of getting in there. And I don’t know about Purdue and Washington. Sorry, I just don’t know the requirements for those two schools because I’m not really interested in them. Sorry I couldn’t be that much of a help (:

GPA alone, you aren’t qualified for the higher level colleges on your list. But, if you add the race card, I’d say your chances go up significantly… g’luck!

Your stats and ECs are really good, and honestly your ethnicity and being a first generation helps a lot.

I think you’re qualified, but your GPA is low for MIT, Princeton, Cornell, and Rice, but I think you have a chance! Best of luck!

You go to an elite school, so don’t be worried about the GPA. Your SAT score is excellent, very nice EC’S

I know for a fact that when they evaluate you, an average GPA at an elite school > Very high gpa at an average school

You definately have a shot at all those schools you’ve listed.

Bump–I have pretty decent teacher recs!

Very good standardized testing scores despite low GPA. However, your interests seems to be all over the place…decide one which ones are your most important interests (science? music? etc…) and really emphasize them, because your activities are scattered. Remember, colleges look for people with focused interests. Your science stuff seems to be pretty solid, so I would emphasize that. If you’ve experienced any difficulties (like bad family situation) that led to a low GPA, make sure you let colleges know that…but do not make up stuff or try to make an excuse. Just be clear and truthful with them. If you tweak your essay (I saw it, hehe) I think you’ll have a good shot at all of those colleges. Good luck!
