Schools:

Cornell

Columbia

Franklin W. Olin

John Hopkins

NYU

RPI

Boston University

Northeastern

Tufts University

Northwestern

Carnegie Mellon

Brown University

Your SAT is hurting you a little bit, currently Id say:

 • Cornell- Reach
 • Columbia- High Reach
 • Franklin W. Olin- Not sure
 • John Hopkins- Reach
 • NYU- Low Reach
 • RPI- Not sure
 • Boston University- Match (With story, etc)
 • Northeastern- Match
 • Tufts University- Low Reach
 • Northwestern-Reach
 • Carnegie Mellon-Match
 • Brown Universit-High Reach

If you can pull a 2200 youd have a great shot at everything, as stated above. Brown and Columbia would still be a reach, but, they are for almost every applicant. With a 2200 I am fairly sure youd get into at least one, if not both of them. (Also, try to crack 700 on your subject tests)

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/741546-johns-hopkins-ea-brown-will-chance-back.html

Replied to both! Thanks~

Which should i focus on retaking, sat I’s or sat II’s?

Try to up the scores… first-gen will help. Also, your ECs seem unfocused. Pick the ones you’re passionate about. As of this second… I’d say:

Cornell- Reach
Columbia- High Reach
Franklin W. Olin- ?
John Hopkins- Reach
NYU- Low Reach
RPI- ?
Boston University- Match
Northeastern- Match
Tufts University- High Match
Northwestern-Reach
Carnegie Mellon- Match
Brown University-Reach

Work on those scores, and a quality essay surrounding that hook.

Like everyone else is saying, ur SATs seem to be ur biggest weakness right now. Otherwise, nice stats.

I would def retake the SAt before the SAT2s, it’s more important and with those scores and your ORM status your chances aren’t that great.
Cornell- reach- I would suggest applying here ED, based on your ECs I thkn you would like it and their ED acceptance rate is ~35% i think.
Columbia- high reach
JHU- reach
NYU- match
BU- in
Northeastern- in
Tufts- low reach
Northwestern- reach
CMU- reach
Brown- high reach

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/739609-barack-obama-says-chance-me-yale-scea.html

Franklin Olin all da way :D!
Like previously mentioned, you need the SAT’s up and even Subject Tests. Did you try the ACT? Much easier IMO. But here’s what I think with those scores right now:

Cornell reach
Columbia reach
Franklin W. Olin high reach
John Hopkins reach
NYU low reach
RPI match/low reach
Boston University match
Northeastern match
Tufts University in
Northwestern mid reach
Carnegie Mellon mid reach
Brown University high reach

Chance back if you’d like: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/741629-chance-improvements-2011-urm.html

Chanced back and Replied~

bumpp!~

10chars.

Cornell- Reach
Columbia- Reach
Franklin W. Olin- No Idea.
John Hopkins- Reach
NYU- Match
RPI- Safety
Boston University- Match
Northeastern- Match
Tufts University- Low Reach
Northwestern- Low Reach/Match
Carnegie Mellon- Match
Brown University- Reach

Edit:
Chance me please?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/743266-chance-me-ill-chance-you.html

chanced back!

Cornell: reach

Columbia: reach

Franklin W. Olin: not sure

John Hopkins: reach

NYU: match

RPI: match

Boston University: high match

Northeastern: low reach

Tufts University: high match

Northwestern: reach

Carnegie Mellon: low reach

Brown University: reach

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/745104-please-chance-me-ill-chance-back.html

Cornell: Reach

Columbia: Reach

John Hopkins: Reach

NYU: Match

Boston University: Low reach

Northeastern: Match

Tufts University: Reach

Northwestern: Match

Carnegie Mellon: Low reach

Brown University: Reach

I would get your test scores up. Nice ECs, though; just focus on the essays and you’ll be fine.

Chance back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/745328-dont-these-titles-all-boil-down-same-thing-chance-please.html

If you bring your SAT scores up, then you have a great shot at all of those. Brown and Columbia will still be reaches, but they’re reaches for nearly everyone, and you would more than likely get into one of them

Chance me back please!
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/755553-chance-please-ill-chance-back-asap.html

Cornell - reach/low reach

Columbia - reach

Franklin W. Olin - reach

John Hopkins - low reach

NYU - high match

RPI - ?

Boston University - match

Northeastern - match/safety

Tufts University - high match

Northwestern - reach

Carnegie Mellon - ?

Brown University - reach

People on CC tend to over exaggerate the importance of SAT scores. You do not NEED a 2300 to get into Brown, etc. It helps, but 100 or 200 points might not make a big difference; it definitely depends on the school.

Cornell: mid reach

 • Columbia: high reach

 • John Hopkins: mid reach
 • NYU: mid reach
 • RPI: low reach/high match
 • Boston University: high match
 • Northeastern: in
 • Tufts University: high match
 • Northwestern: low reach
 • Carnegie Mellon: mid reach
 • Brown University: high reach

you need to bring up your test scores for sure
