Chance a future Trojan hopeful for (*gasp*) UCLA!

I am a junior from CA, and USC is my dream school to major in Communication. I'm also applying to UCLA, and want to see if I have a shot at being accepted there in this major. I really don't even know, and if I don't get into USC then UCLA will come in at a close second. I know my stats aren't stellar or anything, but I just want to get the opinions of others. Thanks! (Other colleges to chance me at: Syracuse U, UC Berk, NYU, Northwestern, UCSB, UCSD, Cornell, etc.)

CURRENT 10-12 RANK: 21

I would be happy to chance you back, but I don't know how great I would be at it. :-)

Your GPA is meh. Not bad but not too impressive.
Your SAT I score is pushing average for UCLA admit (i think the average is like 2050 or something like that). So it’s not too bad. SAT IIs are lookin’ good so far. Anything above a 700 is impressive.
Your ECs are very impressive, and could probably make some great essays.
Your class rank is also impressive.

So in my humble opinion your chances for UCLA (and Cal) are decent. You’ll have to work hard on those essays and really spice up your application the best you can.
For UCSD and UCSB, should be pretty easy to get in for you. (Although for UCSD it would have been better if you took a math and science SAT II with a score of 680+). NYU is a bit harder to get into than UCSD but you should still have a good shot at it.

For Cornell and Northwestern, your chances are a bit worse than for UCLA (even though their accept rates are similar) because they’re both private and receive a lot less apps than UCLA and have different procedures for admitting students.
-That’s just my opinion, don’t attack me if you see it differently.

Thank you for your honesty! Are you a UCLA student?
