Hi Deblerg, thanks for chancing me, too.
Well i want to major in biochemistry, i’d like to live near a big city and attend a medium-big school that does a lot of research :). Any suggestions for good matches/safeties?

i would really appreciate some more help :)

You’ve got some nice ECs, as well as good test scores. I’m not quite sure how well an international student fares in comparison to other internationals and US students, but perhaps your ECs and other info can give you an edge. I see Harvard, U Chicago, Columbia and Stanford as reaches, but honestly they’re reaches for everybody… Thanks for chancing me before, and good luck!

Thank you Superbest.

any other advice?

I think you would be pretty good for any of those schools, you’re different and that’s a good thing.

Thank you flccchances

Wow! Despite your background your stats are very splendid. I feel ashamed. Harvard is too difficult especially for internationals but your stats are awesome, if you don’t get in to any of the rest I’ll be surprised. You should consider MIT, I know two guys with very similar situations as yours with a 1980 and 1870 in SAT but they got in. One wrote in his essay how he had to hawk on the streets but still got all As in his final exams. Such schools like either super stellar awardees or people who’ve overcome adversity and you have. MIT met their full need but I don’t know if they’ll meet yours. BTW they were internationals> African.

Lelyke, your post is very encouraging! but i need a math II test to apply to MIT right?

Any other advice???

I need some more help, please!

I agree with everything that has already been said. You’ve got a great chance for all these schools, except Harvard and the other ivies- not that you’re not good enough, but its just VERY difficult to predict who they’ll accept because there’s SO many great, unique applicants and only so much space for the freshman class.
Make sure you write about your history in your essays. That will win them over.

Please chance me back?

thank you snowinchicago

Your strongest aspect is your background.

Obviously compared to most American applicants, your test scores would not hold up. However, another key part of getting into these schools is presenting yourself in a different and memorable way. Your background allows you to do that, so if you can write a good essay (as well as supplements, get good recs), I think you have a good chance.
