So what do you think my chances are? Thanks in advance :)

Looks good to me; you have an excellent shot of getting in, as far as I can tell. ECs, test scores, courseload, grades are strong. UCs don’t take into account 9th grade, and I don’t think they superscore (only consider individual sittings). Write solid essays, the only thing you might end up having to worry about is receiving a decent financial aid package (as an out-of-stater) once accepted!

UC-Dreams Thanks!! I would love to go to UCLA :)

UCLA does not superscore. However, given your other qualifications, UCLA is a match.

What is it you will get at UCLA that you can’t get at a large public in your state or a state with reciprocity agreements for much less?

mikemac- I really want to work in the entertainment industry and UCLA has the connections.

Good news is that you’re on target for UCLA.

But because UCLA attracts thousands of strong applicants like you, there is no doubt the deciding factor will be writing an excellent personal statement that allows the reader to understand why and how you stand out of the crowd of all the other out-of-state applicants.
