I am SO indecisive about where I want to go! Any help with chances/where I would be a good match would be much appreciated! I really like schools that are in/near a large (I mean NYC/Los Angeles/Chicago large) city.

At some schools that you mentioned, the major you choose plays a significant role, but i believe you would be doing something in Arts department (architecture) with that in mind, this is what i believe would be the chances. This is JUST my opinion!
I think you have good chances at all the schools. Your GPA is a bit low and that might hurt your chances at some schools, notably Berkeley and Columbia. But, schools like Northwestern, Penn, NYU, Georgetown are all in reach. You should be in at most of the these schools. Good Luck!

For some strange reason, I can't edit my post, but I just wanted to add: I am a California resident and there are 14 board members of the non-profit.

EDIT: Thanks sunny! I would be doing something in the arts, I think, probably Art History.

Always make sure you have some likely schools, too. The Class of 2009 will have three million graduates. A good portion will want to apply to college. You need to cover yourself with good likely schools. Also, you are hoping to be a NM finalist, right? The semifinalists won't be announced until September.

Thanks, momreads! Yes, I am hoping to be a finalist/I don't know if I am yet. I guess I should have put semifinalist, though, but it's very likely that I will get one or the other because my PSAT scores were good and above the cut off (which I know hasn't been announced yet, but my scores are well above the cut offs from previous years).

bump bump bump

I got my SAT II scores and they are 780 Lit and 760 Math II, just to fill those out.

I don't think your GPA will hurt you at any of the schools. As long as there is a reason other than your GPA that would interest colleges (which, for you, there are) then a 3.75 will be neutral.

Columbia-almost in
U Penn-in
NYU- in
Georgetown-in
Emory-in
Pomona-in
Northwestern-in
Berkeley-in
Brown-match
Princeton (I have a double legacy here, along with my sister attending for 2 years and then transferring)-in
Claremont McKenna-in

Thanks guys!

Brown - match? Princeton - in?

If only chancing was an objective process...

Tetrisfan, how would you put my chances at Brown and Princeton? I always want more opinions! ;)

bump bump bumppppp

I'd say they're both reaches, all Ivies are reaches for most people

Your grades are fine... a 4.3 at a prep school is pretty decent. Your scores are good too, and your EC's are about average to above average. I'd say you'd have reaches at Princeton, Columbia, UPenn, but you'll have really good chances at the others... Depends on your essays and recs.
