<p>wow…you sound like you have a really good chance at getting in to any of these schools. But then again, ivies are hard to get into for even the best of applicants. However, I’m pretty sure that you still have a really good chance of getting admission anywhere you apply. Btw, thanks for chancing me!!</p>
<p>a hook is something:
unique - in the strictest sense of the word, so like you’re a fashion designer, or you’re related to Gauss so you started a school to tutor kids in math (usually overlaps with amazingly impressive ha) (don’t ask me where I came up with these examples. wild imagination)
amazingly impressive - like IMO, or nationally ranked badminton player, or found a cure for cancer
or simply a tangible, meaningful advantage - like URM or legacy or rich parents that would donate a building to the school or recruited athlete/musician.</p>
<p>some hooks are better than others. some will have top universities fighting for you, some will just make them look twice. most people don’t have hooks, and you can’t exactly “make” one out of nowhere xD (Utah helps a bit, since some schools have geographic preferences)</p>
