Class Rank-School doesnt rank (could this prove to be a problem?) but if I had to guess I would say definitely top quarter, possibly top 10 percent

ECs are pretty weak, During baseball season in my town I umpire the little league baseball games (past 2 years), also was a counselor in training for a summer camp for a year

Jobs- work over the summer at a screen-printing business, past 3 years

Thanks to anyone who chances me, and if you have any questions dont hesitate to ask.

your test scores are great. Your GPA is low. Your EC’s are lacking. What school are you applying to. OOS does not look at rank the way they do for instate. They take a holistic view. Your essay will be important. You have a chance, but have backup plans.

I think you have a decent chance of getting in. It MAY be a reach b/c of your GPA, but at the same time, they really want OOS kids (the OOS tuition drives ppl nuts).

You have around a 50/50 chance of getting in or being rejected.

From my school the avg GPA is like 87-89 and the SATs are ~2000.

The scholarship app is due on Dec 1 and I still haven’t written my 2 essays lol.

I think you’ll make it. GPA could be better but your SAT scores rock. Trade ya places! I wish I could transfer to Cali.

My OOS son’s GPA was about the same, and his school didn’t rank. His SAT was a little higher (2220 on one test), but you’re close. He did have more ECs. Anyway, he got in, so I’d think you have a good shot.

lol, sure I would probably make that deal. I wish I lived in Texas, because then I wouldn’t have had to take all of these difficult classes that brought my GPA down. I’d just take the easy stuff and get in under that top 10 percent rule. That has to be helpful for you guys, right?

Anyways, thanks for all the responses. I’m hoping I get in here. As a sidenote, does anyone know if they will take letters of rec after Dec 1?
