Produced a research paper on Improving the existing technology of Automatic External Defibrillators under the guidance of research advisors R.N. Tripathi (M.Tech Mechanical Engineer-IIT Kanpur) and Dr A.P. Singh (MD -non invasive cardiology).

Currently researching on How to improve acceleration and top speed by using lift forces on race cars, while maintaining an optimum traction-an improvement over present -Drag Reduction System by using flaps on retractable side wings rather than axially placed rear wings with VED SASSOMECCANICA (I) PVT.LTD.

Currently researching on generating rotational energy by mechanism based on creating a low pressure region surrounded by a high pressure region.(Energy by pressure differences)

Lol definitely not 50 percent… Sorry, but then that’d mean you have a better than average chance, and you probably have a less than average chance…

However, it’s worth applying still…

Don’t lose hope; don’t give up, because if you don’t apply, you’ll regret it…

Just raise your SAT’s and you have an average shot

That said, make sure you don’t come across as one-dimensional (i.e., talents limited to math and science). Dartmouth places a huge emphasis on communication skills, especially in the sciences and engineering, so it’s important that you work to develop those as well.

As an international applicant from India whose interests lie in engineering, you’ll likely be stereotyped as someone who has immense technical expertise but limited communication ability (and thus limited leadership potential)… especially since your SAT Math score is so much higher than your SAT Critical Reading and SAT Writing scores.

In order to improve your chances at Dartmouth and similar institutions, challenge yourself with advanced courses in the humanities (literature, history, etc.) and make a conscious effort to develop your verbal skills. You’ll have to work hard, but the rewards will be immense.

While your academic ec’s are pleasing to the eye, they’re one dimensional. This coupled with your low sat 1 score will hamper chances at ivies like harvard and brown which to my knowledge look for really well rounded students. Your sat 2 marks are good enough i presume, but a 750 plus always looks better. I hope your essay’s show more than just this one side of you and represent you well. You’d have done well to apply to some safeties?

i would say cornell might still give you a chance, however they have minimal aid. The more selective ivies, well its all a lottery now, so best of luck.
Others on this thread chance me?

you have impressive work/ecs but not enough, even though they are focused and at an advanced level but they need a lil more in terms of community service and leadership, though till a certain extent your essays can potentially help you…

That said, your SAT II scores are good enuf, your SAT I score is more than average but not for Dartmouth… they have a higher average score… If you can cover all these aspects you can still have a chance…

Add some more colleges… reach and safeties…
