Chance a member of the class of '11

I'm going to be a junior this year, and I barely have a clue on where I stand. I'm even more uncertain because I know for a fact that I can substantially raise my grades this year. Please tell me what you think.

Caucasian female, upper middle class, dual British-American citizenship. Attends a very rigorous New England day school where practically everybody goes to a top-tier college, with roughly half the class going to top-20 schools. On-level classes are the equivalent of public school's accelerated classes.

Freshman GPA: 3.26, or about an 85. Took English 9 (A-), Conceptual Physics (B+), World Cultures (A-), Spanish 2 (B-), Geometry (B-), Religion (B), and Chorus (A).

I came from a middle school where I literally did nothing to obtain a 95 average and I lacked study skills, as well as an adequate background in math and Spanish.

Sophomore GPA: 3.42, or about an 88. Took English 10 Honors (B, but I was .4 of a point away from a B+), Chemistry (B), AP Euro (B+), Spanish 3 (B+), Algebra 2/Trig (C+), Religion (A-), Economics (A-), and Science Research (A).

I could have done better in APE and I seriously struggled with Alg2/Trig. My English class was honestly one of the hardest courses I have ever taken, and in a "normal" English class I honestly would have had an A.

I know that I can do better this year. I am getting help in precalc and I am going to try harder in APUSH and Honors/AP Lit. I am also taking Honors Biology for science, which I should do very well in. If I do as well as I plan, then I will have about a 3.8 GPA for junior year, or a 92 average.

From a purely academic standpoint I have no idea where I stand. My overall GPA should be slightly below 3.5. From an extracurricular standpoint, I guess I am above average. I have been in one school play per year, am an active participant on my school's debate team, am working on my Girl Scout Gold award, have 75 hours of community service, am a fairly active member of my school's community service club, am on JV golf, am involved in science research and will possibly get to partake in stem cell research by the time I graduate, and I am a "big sibling"/mentor. When I am a senior I will most likely be my debate team's captain, a peer leader, have more "real-world" science research experience, have completed my Gold Award, and have a shot at being the community service club head. I am still going to participate in drama and golf. I sing in my school's select choir as well, but it is a class and not an extracurricular activity. I also took the PSAT as a sophomore and scored in the top 96th percentile, with my verbal score in the top 99th percentile. Considering I should be able to improve my scores, I will most likely be commended, if not a semifinalist. What kind of schools do I have a shot at?

Ok…You don’t have an SAT score, which makes it hard to give your realistic chances
With your PSATs, imma guess we’re working in the 2000ish range, which gives you a good shot at most schools. However, hon, top 20 schools just aren’t super likely

Why not look at places like CMU, Pitt, UMass-Amherst, Skidmore, Union, or maybe even Bowdoin…they seem much more your speed

Not to be defensive, but what exactly do you mean by “more my speed?” The kids at the bottom of the class at my school go to colleges such as Union and UMass-Amherst, and although I am not at the top of my class, I know I am far from the bottom. I am probably around the middle of an extremely competitive class from a school that does not rank. That is why I am completely confused.
