Chance for class of 2013

Hi guys! So we're nearing the end of the 2011 school year, which is the end of my sophomore year at high school. I was just wondering what colleges you think I would have a decent shot at, and which ones you think would be a small reach but still possible. I know I still have 2 more years to go, so I posted my predicted junior year schedule. Thanks!

ECs

Debate Club (novice 9th grade, only sophomore in varsity in 10th)

Attending Canada/USA Mathcamp this summer (and maybe next summer, if no RSI)
Working on Research @ UCONN (chemistry, just started off but the Quantitative Analysis course should help)

So let me know what colleges you think would be appropriate for me! Thanks!

If you want some more prestigious colleges I would reccomend having some ec’s and activities outside of school so it shows you are diverse and well rounded. Your grades seem well and depending on your SAT scores you should be a strong applicant.

I’m not sure where to reccomend you go because I’m not sure what you are looking at in a college in means of setting, major, geographic area and such. You should be fine in most places if you keep up the good work!

Chance me back please?

Maybe pick up a few more ECs this coming school year. But honestly, Junior year can be a game-changer, so while it’s definitely good to start checking out colleges now, you shouldn’t really begin to firm up your list until around April or May of next year, when you’ll have a much better picture of where you stand. Believe me, Junior year can be brutal, but as long as you stay focused and try your best, you’ll be okay. :)

I hate the fact that I’m competing against you. And everyone else. Hunger Games, anyone? I know so many people that have become HORRIBLE human beings because of this incessant drive to win.
That said, you’re a really strong applicant for most schools!

@bluenotebook2 Haha love those books! But don’t worry: there’s a butt for every chair, and there’s a college for every kid! ;)

Plus, this kid is a year younger than us, so you’re not competing against him. :)

I mean, I don’t have any hook, and my grades are ok, but this is only freshman and sophomore year. Probably going to get a B ish in AP US History. And I haven’t take the SATs, only PSATs… I’m not sure…

Hahaha @born2dance94
I’m actually a sophomore! So I’m not competing against you :D:D and that’s very true. Makes me feel a bit better  Thanks, and I appreciate that!
@EducationOD (is that like On Demand?! haha) I’m kinda in the same soup. I’m not very exceptional, but I have a pretty high gpa and some decent ECs.

Yea, it’s like a hit or miss for pretty much every ivy… Which sucks…

I might have missed it, but do you have an intended major yet? It may be a bit difficult to suggest colleges for ya without exactley knowing what you want to do in life.

Based off of your grades, you are off to a good start in your high school career. Though ivies may be difficult, schools such as BC, BU, USC are schools to keep in mind along this process. Hope this helps!

Chance me if you can: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1153954-chance-me-syracuse-bu-university-maryland-few-others.html

I KNOW! it makes me so sad… and I really don’t like trying to beat others out for admission into top schools. It’s just so depressing, because I feel like everyone deserves a top-notch education. But only the Ivies/ other prestigious schools have top-notch faculty (w/ noble laureates, etc.) UCal is cool that way, though!

Bumppppppp.

I don’t think any colleges will want you buddy. I mean. Seriously. What were you thinking. Come on. Herb.
