Hi, i am a junior at a well known illinois public high school, i will not need to apply for financial aid (college counselor said that will help), i have a 3.01 uw gpa but i will be applying with about a 3.07-3.10 uw gpa if everything continues at my current pace, and a 27 on the ACT, I will be applying to the college of education and human development, i have good ec's but i wont list them all because I find it pointless when i see chance threads with all there clubs but i will list the few i feel will look good: hockey, soph board, jr board, educators of tomorrow, just wondering my chances to get into Minnesota's college of education and human development, thanks!

You have pretty good odds at getting into one of those colleges with that act, the most important thing about applying at the U of MN is applying as soon as you possibly can

I think you're probably in if your GPA continues on that trend. But why not list all of your EC's? I listed all of my "pointless" ones, and it sure didn't hurt me.... in fact they gave me a scholarship. But like dr1260 said, apply early.

haha no of course I will list them on my college application but I was not going to list them on the chance thread because i figured it was unnecessary on this, but just in case I will be applying to education, keep that in mind

soph board
snowball (anti drug trip)
asian club (not asian, don't ask)
hockey for 3 years so far yet to play senior season
jr board
prep league basketball
national honor society
acting showcase 2009 (play)
senior board (will do)
educators of tomorrow
participated in student teach day 2009

bumpppppppppppp

any other thoughts??

???????????????????

Hahaha I love how people say "A well known public high school" like it makes it better than any other high school. Sorry... I just think it's cute how people do that, haha.

What's your class rank? Admission is not based really on GPA but rather class rank... how you did compared to other people taking the same classes and difficulty levels. Some education systems are better than others... so this is how they gauge your performance.

school does not rank so I really cannot answer any of your questions haha im sorry
