i'm a female from NJ
GPA - 3.2, but all A's senior year except in math (a 77. math is not my strong point)
SATs - CR - 610, Math - 580, Writing - 650
SAT2s - Lit - 640, Math1- 620
I've taken many honors courses in all subjects, with the exception of math.

ECs - These are horrible because I've had a job since freshman year. I've worked at the same day care since 9th grade working 15 hours a week (5 days a week, 3 hours each day), and had a 2nd job all throughout my junior year. Schoolwise, I did field hockey for 2 years, the school play for 2 years, and was a member of teens against cancer for 3 years (it started my soph. yr).

My recs., I assume, are very good. I had great relationships with the teachers who wrote them for me.

My essay was also good, I spent almost 3 months(!!!) writing and rewriting it and then editing some more with a teacher.

colleges:
UVM (top choice)
University of Delaware
American
Northeastern

So far, I've been accepted to Drexel University with a $10,500/yr scholarship and UAlbany with a $4,000/yr scholarship. I was deferred to regular admission at Northeastern.

anyone? i mean, i dont get why only the top students get responses. in reality, most students in the country are applying to the same kinds of schools as i am.

if you want a really serious shot at most of your schools you should retake the SAT and try to get the math up a little bit. I still think you have a decent shot at them now but you would highly increase your chances with a better SAT

UVM (top choice) - Match
University of Delaware - Match
American - Match
Northeastern - Match

All these schools are matches, as far as I can tell. You have at least a 50/50 chance at each. Figure you'll get into at least two.

Unfortunately it's too late for me to retake the SATs. I did, however, send in my SAT2s, and my I scored better on Math1 than I did on the regular SAT Math, do you think that will help me out?

it cant hurt you. I think you will easily get into 1 or 2 if not all of your choices.

good luck

thanks. of course i'm aiming to get into all of them, but i'd be happy to attend any one of them if it comes down to it.

Just FYI: Most kids in the country are applying to schools well below yours. The majority of schools in this nation are practically open admission (i.e. the majority of people get in).

UVM: Fit
UDel: Fit
American: Fit
Northeastern: High fit

You'll probably get in to at least 1 of the 4, if not 2 or more.

Good luck!

sorry i'm confused ha, whats the difference between a fit and high fit?
