You’ve got a good chance and if you’re a URM then your chances should be higher than average. I’m really unsure of Hopkins nowadays. They were 20% admit rate last year and I fear this year’s is going to be even lower. Nonetheless, go for it because you’re definitely competitive for Hopkins.

OP isn’t URM, but regardless, you have some interesting EC’s but I would still say Hopkins is a Reach. You definitely have a chance!

He’s an immigrant which means he could be a white hispanic.

Oh good point, didn’t think of it that way. Yeah URM would help :)

Good Luck!

I’m stuck wishing i was a URM. Thanks for chancing  guys, hopefully we’ll all be in Baltimore come September.

Also… Happy Thanks Giving  think I’m going to go eat some turkey.

xD, i just realized i spelled Thanksgivings wrong

Bumping with Dec. Subject Test Results

Math II- 760
Bio M- 700

Also, for the academic interest supplement essay, should i focus on one of my interests, or mention many? 250 words isn’t enough :(

It’s up to you. If you think you can fit them inside the word limit, then you will be OK. If you think you can describe just one interest in the word limit, then go for that instead.

u have a good chance (based a lot on ur ECs)
also, whats a “URM”?

an under-represented minority. A Hispanic, Native American, African American, etc. Or someone from a low socioeconomic class. Or a geographic region that is not often represented in a class, like North Dakota.

I’m a permanent resident from an underrepresented country, but being white i doubt it will play a role.

I decided to focus on piano and aviation in my supplement. Hopefully it’ll help me stand out a bit more :)

Forgive me, but what does URM mean?
-A 17 Year Old New-To-College-Terms Senior

Oh, never mind… under-represented minority.
