Johns Hopkins EA, Brown, will chance back.

Hey, please chance me. I'll chance back- post a link!

GPA (Definitely one of my weak points): Weighted: 4.1 Unweighted: 3.6 (Should go up dramatically again senior year, strong upwards trend)

ACT: 32 (36M 32 S 32 E 29 R) Waiting for second test score, expecting about a 32, will take again, hoping 34 (Super-scored I would have a 34 at the moment.)
SAT: Not Taken
SAT II: Math IIc: 750 Biology E: 720 Chemistry: 730
I am fluent in German, I am taking the German SATII with listening in the fall, expecting 720+ (Grammar portion may hurt a bit...) Retaking Math, along with either Biology or Physics (along with German)

I tutor Math and Science 4-5 hours a week.
I teach Chess 2-5 hours a week at the local Middle School (I am formed State champion, 6th out of over 1000 at Nationals- both to young to count on my application I'd assume)

Work Experience:
Summer Job (2 Years) at an engineering company. Made circuit boards, web design, data collection.

Not sure where/how/if to include this. I was a major advocate for AP Physics at our school and to make it happen I spent 4 hours every day all summer and spring teaching Physics and Calculus to prepare a student for the class. They actually took the Physics SAT II and got a 730, Im not sure if there is a way I can use this, I doubt I can disclose another students grades to show my success in this area.

I tried to keep the above short, and I think I have listed everything major. I think my top choice is Johns Hopkins so I will probably apply early action.
If someone could chance me on:
Johns Hopkins EA and Regular Decision:
Brown EA and Regular Decision:
U-Chicago:
Northwestern:

I know these are all reaches, I have safeties planned out. If someone could compare my chances particularly in the first to early action compared to regular decision it would be much appreciated. Leave a link and I'll chance back!

JHU high match
Brown reach
UofC low reach
NU reach

i think your frosh grades may hold you back a SLIGHT bit. but you’ve got a great upward trend which is good. your standardized tests are pretty good, might need a little improvement, however. ECs look great

Thanks, a lot. How do you think applying early decision would effect my chances at the first two? Also, how much better would my chances be if I would get a 34 on my ACT and 750+ on my SAT IIs?

If someone could compare, you choose the method (percentages, etc) Johns Hopkins EA, Johns Hopkins RD, and Brown EA it would be much appreciated.

I am pretty sure I want to go to one of the two schools, I just want to apply in a way as to maximize my odds.

A lot better if you had a 34 and 750+ but your chances are good anyways.

JHU-reach
Northwestern-lower reach
U Chicago-reach

Brown…i’m going to be you get deffered EA and get in RD…or you’ll just get in EA…for some reason i just have a feeling

haha…you already chanced me
thanks!!!

Oops, they are both early decision (which makes it difficult, as I have to pick one…)

i think you’re in at northwestern
jhu/brown slight reach to reach
u chicago high match/ slight reach

good lucK!

Northwestern: high match
JHU: high match
Brown: reach
UChicago: low reach

Johns Hopkins EA and Regular Decision:low reach, I think you could get in
Brown EA and Regular Decision:reach
U-Chicago: match
Northwestern: match

good luck!

Johns Hopkins EA and Regular Decision- good shot… up in the air, but I’d say you have a better than 50% shot for sure

Brown EA and Regular Decision- reach, (but it’s not impossible… I’d say 20% shot, maybe)

U-Chicago- I’d say 40-50% shot… low reach?

Northwestern- I’d say 40% shot

Johns Hopkins EA in

can u plz chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/739962-plz-chance-overachiever-rice-u-maryland-duke-caltech-5-ucs.html#post1062841319

good ACT, gpa- maybe a bit low… about the student/physics, try including it in an essay if you were really passionate about it and you can write in a style suited for the purpose…good ecs and leadership

so, jhu- close reach, brown- reach (ivy status) chances should go up if applying ea or esp ed

Johns Hopkins EA in
JHU Regular Decision: reach
Brown EA reach in
Brown Regular Decision: reach
U-Chicago: in
Northwestern: in

Northwestern = High Match
Brown = Reach
JHU = Low Reach

You have a really strong course load which will likely help explain your low GPA. Otherwise, everything looks very strong, you’ll have a good shot at your schools.

Your ACT is decent but may be too low to make p for your poor freshman grades. You do have some pretty good ECs and a difficult schedule as well.

I think all are high matches/low reaches, except Brown which is a reach.

jhu: low reach
u chic: match

Thanks for chancing me!!
Johns Hopkins EA and Regular Decision: I think you have a good chance of getting in EA. RD might be tougher, but you may be able to get in
Brown EA and Regular Decision: reach, but you might be able to pull it off
U-Chicago: i would say match
Northwestern: match

Good Luck!!

JHU high match
Brown reach
UofC low reach
NU reach
