Chance a Southbound Senior, Please!

Chance me for UVA, Duke, Rice, Emory, Stanford (one can dream), and Nortwestern (ok thats in the midwest... the title was kinda a generalization)

female of the Caucasian persuasion. NJ resident. GPA... i don't know, its weighted beyond recognition. A-/B+ average freshman year. Switced from private to public school after that, and since then, Straight As and a few A+s. rank 6/360, top 2% (would be higher if not for freshman year) 8 APs in total, the ones i took so far were 4s and 5s.

ok so i just made some calculations and my GPA should be around a 3.85-3.9 unweighted

sat 2340 (math 750, cr 800, wr790)
sat2 chem- 770
US history- 790 <--- maybe major?
mathII- 780

ECs: Mock trial, community service, tutor, internships, newspaper, NHS, pres of math clab (b.s.). Also took art for 4 years and sending visual art portfolio supplement
^pretty run-of-the-mill, except for the art. never applied for any awards or anything, didn't even know people did that until i went on c.c. But at least i DID stuff out of school

essays: super kickass

Is there anything i'm forgetting?

I already got into Rutgers and Umich so don't worry about safeties

thank you, I will return the favor and chance back to the best of my abilities!!!

i think i forgot to send in one of the common app teacher rec checklist forms. uh oh. am i a no-go everywhere?

id say match for emory and nerdwestern

bump: any ideas about the other ones, anyone?

This is an excellent resume, of of the best ive seen here. The only one you have to worry about is Stanford, and Id say thats a low reach. Dont worry about the common app forms, they cant keep you out for that. You're good man!

Help Me Out!! Thanks!!

UVA - match
Duke - match
Rice - match
Emory - match
Stanford - good luck
Nortwestern - match

Thanks guys!
Stanford is a LOW reach?? oh, don't flatter me. I've never even heard of anyone getting in there

That's good news about Duke, though; I just had a Duke alum interview and it went well.
I'm hoping for either Duke or Rice and feeling very optimistic now!

Stanford's a low reach, everywhere else is a good match

Chance me please! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/621725-took-risk-blew-any-hope-left.html

Ok, so very good rank and SATs. The ECs are there, but kinda so-so.

You really should get in UVA. And you will get in Emory.

Northwestern and Rice I think you will get in. Low reaches I guess.

Duke is a low to mid reach. I suspect Duke is gonna be brutal this year. Stanford...yeah, good luck there. Two guys in my school with 2350+ SATs and top of the class were outright rejected EA. But worth a try, AMAZING school.

near perfect SAT and stats.
UVA-in
Emory-in
Northwestern-in
Rice-in
Duke-would be suprised if you didn't get in
Stanford-tough but still match i think

Thanks, people.
Uh-oh, why is Duke going to be so "brutal"? I think thats my first choice...

p.s. Bump!

IN everywhere. except for....STANFORD. but i mean come on its not like you cured cancer...

yeah ur pretty much set

if u have the time plz chance back

By the way...majoring in history when you have an obvious aptitude for math would be a crying shame. No offense or anything. :P

Thanks, but math is such a competitive major! I'll def. take lots of math courses though

p.s.- Last bump! I am suddenly nervous about this again...
I'd especially like opinions on Duke, because I'm getting mixed answers about that school and I have no idea where I stand.

Thank you all
