Chance a transfer.

My brother is applying as a transfer from LCS community college in Houston.
He is applying to liberal arts college Economics/German.
~3.6 GPA will have 20 credit hours at the time he applies in the spring.

Phi Theta Kappa (w/e that club is for CC)
Honors Program
College Republicans (would you suggest listing this on an app? I did and it was fine but idk how liberal UT is)

I don't even know for sure but I know he has some community serve....

Thanks in advance.... Mostly just looking to see how difficult transferring in will be for him.

Good chance if he has some leadership stuff. Don’t list college republicans. They are obviously told to be objective, but anyone with half a brain knows that some admissions people can and will hold it against him.

I was wondering on that. I put Campus Republicans which I founded in HS and Yale didn’t mind! My brother is big into it too and that’s a major part of his EC’s, I wonder if he fibbed and said “College Independents” or “Political Science Club”.

Bump for more opinions.

The only problem is the number of credits. I applied and got rejected (Fall 10) because I didn’t have enough credits. (I needed 24 credits since I’m international…you need 30 credits I think if you’re a US citizen). I got accepted for Spring 11 because I had enough credits and raised my gpa also

Uhm how is that a problem?
He’ll have 33 at the time he is admitted.

I’m on the quarter system so when I applied, I sent in my transcripts for Fall 09 and Winter 10 credits. This was during my third Quarter when I was taking additional credits obviously and by the time I was to be enrolled, I would have had enough credits. I was rejected. I reapplied before the Fall 10 Quarter with my transcripts from Fall 09, Winter 10 and Spring 10 Quarters and I got in.

His school does semesters. What is the requirement for credits at the time of application?
