I am currently a freshman on a full academic scholarship to the top private college in my state and one of the top three in the southeast. Currently I have all As.

Last year I graduated as the valedictorian of a competetive private school (410+) and scored above 2220 on my SAT (top 99 %). I also did well on my AP tests and have like a ton of service and activities. I have been doing research at a neurodegenerative research facility for a year now. I'll probably get published this year.

Basically I hate my school with a passion and my parents forced me to go there to save money, however I have enough for three years and recently received a ton of scholarships (over ten thousand worth).

I want to transfer to Harvard. Do I stand a chance given I got waitlisted el ano pasado?

Harvard and schools of that ilk are harder to get into as transfer than frosh, b/c very few folks drop out. Transfers are usually limited to athletes or the really well-to-do. You have a better shot at schools like Tufts, JHU, Penn, Chicago. (Are you at Emory?)

i came from a very similar situation last year,
do really well this year and build some good relationships, your transfer app will depend on your first semester grades and your recommendations among other things.

BTW, Harvard has cut its transfer acceptances by a third recently. Chances were always low, now they're lower.

That being said, you have stats that qualify you for top schools. Note that transfer rates into great schools are usually very low. Tufts, for example is less than 10%.
