Guidance Counselor Rec: We barely talk! Haha but she's been a GC for 20 years so maybe she can write a stellar rec?</p>

Safeties: Bryn Mawr, Haverford, SUNY Albany</p>

<p>Questions:
1) My reaches honestly aren't my priority so I don't feel insecure about my low SAT scores with them but for my targets and ED school, are they okay? :(
2) Are my EC's too scattered? Most of them are centralized around my intended major International Relations/Political science. However, should I leave out SADD and Leo Club as they are kind of random?</p>

<p>Was your 34 ACT with writing? For Amherst that is all you would need. In fact, Amherst doesn’t actually require the essay, but it is recommended. Your 34 is at the 75th% for Amherst, so there is no need to worry about that!</p>

I think you stats are alright, and rather good ECs. Although not spectacularr…but since you are applying ED, I think you have a reasonable good shot =).
I think your reaches are a bit “reaching”, but it’s worth a try. Keep up the good work!</p>

<p>I think you have an above-average shot at Amherst ED. As long as all those EC’s fit on the application, I think you should include them all. They can’t hurt you.
Have you thought about applying to Hamilton? I’ve been looking into it and it seems like a fantastic school. I’m sure you’ve heard of it, being from upstate New York. Anyways, Brown and Stanford will be reaches (they are for everyone…) but overall I’d say you have a pretty good shot at them. </p>

<p>Pomona and Swarthmore are reaches in my opinion. (but if you get into Pomona, I would love to have you on our mock trial team!)</p>

<p>First off, how the hell did you get a 780 on the SAT II for USH and a 3 on the AP test? I got a five on the AP test and a 740! haha that is so odd</p>

<p>Anyways, you have really great ECs (you guys have good clubs at your school!), but perhaps leave the SAT score off/retake it because your ACT one is way better and your GPA on a 4.0 scale (3.738) isn’t fantastic (but then again my school has totally effed up the GPA system so we are in the same boat). Everything looks great for Amherst, and I say you have a pretty good chance!</p>

<p>Sweetsmiles, the only reason haverford is one of my safeties is because I have family members who work there and the coach has displayed significant interest in me. I understand how hard it is to get in though so maybe I should change it to a target school!</p>

<p>Fatum no problem for chancing you and ugh I know my reaches are such high goals hahaa! But to be honest, I’m only looking at them to please my mother! :0</p>

<p>lolcats4, I know pomona is more of a reach but is swarthmore too?! ahhh you’re making me nervous.</p>

<p>And Yaintime21, ugh I ask myself the same thing each day hahaa. I seeeriously think that collegeboard confused my AP Language and AP US scores but I’m too cheap to pay them to fix their own mistakes -_-</p>

<p>I think you have a pretty good shot at Amherst, as for RD: I think Brown and Stanford are reaches, you do have a chance but I would say it’s on the low side. Duke is probably a slight reach but you could make it. As for the rest, I think you have a great shot except maybe Swarthmore</p>

<p>I’d put Swarthmore, Amherst, and Pomona on the same level of selectivity. They’d probably be low reaches for you, with Duke (and maybe Brown, not sure). Stanford is a whole 'nother deal.</p>

<p>Haverford should be a target (same level as Bowdoin, slightly higher than Vassar/Wes) unless the coach is actually recruiting you. (Are you being pressured to apply ED? Have you been promised an admissions tip?) Bryn Mawr should be relatively safe IF you make a convincing argument for why a women’s college is the right fit, since it’s the only all-women’s school you’re applying to.</p>

<p>That leaves you with only one “true” safety, SUNY Albany, which is far from an LAC. Have you considered applying to another women’s college (not Barnard or Wellesley, too selective to be safeties)?</p>

Stanford, Brown, and UofA are off. And I’ve decided Haverford is now a match.
