Chance/Advice

Hey everyone, I know these are annoying but any advice on how to improve myself would be highly appreciated.

Gender: F
Age: 17, (Junior)
State: Wisconsin

GPA: 3.9 (My school doesn’t offer unweighted GPAs, but I’m in AP Literature (A), AP Biology (A) and AP Psychology (5))

ACT Composite: 31

SAT: Haven’t taken, should I?

EC’s: I’m only a junior but all leadership positions are current and I will be continuing each club next year.

Key Club (3 years, over 320 hours)
NHS (1 years, one year as President)
Environmental Club (3 years)
Latin Club (3 years, 2 years as President)
Feminism club (2 years)
Ronald McDonald House Volunteer (Over 150 hours)
Varsity Cross Country Athlete w/ Varsity Scholar Honors (9th and 10th grade)
Mu Alpha Theta (3 years)

If there is anything else you would like to know, please tell me! Any advice is appreciated.

Your GPA is good, but your ACT is on the low side for Stanford. An ACT score of 31 puts you at the bottom 25%, and many of those scores will be athletes or special admit cases. You should certainly consider trying the SAT. Some students seem to have an easier time with one or the other, ACT or SAT.

As always with Stanford, essays and recommendations are a critical piece of your application, so really give that lots of thought.

OP needs to understand what S looks for. It’s more than stats, hs clubs and some vol. How have you really matched yourself?
