Chance? Again...

Stats:

Cumulative Average/GPA: 94.47/3.8

Class Rank: Top 10% (need to double-check with guidance counselor)

ACT: 20 (I know this is very low, plan on retaking twice. I need at least 26)

SAT: 1480 (I know this is very low too, may retake or just focus on ACT)

APs/Honors: (My school doesn't offer any of these courses)

8 absences and 0 latenesses (9th - 11th grade, if anyone cares)

Activities:
- Internship in the pre-college office at school (90hrs)
- Co-Founder/Organizer of the Music Club
- Senior Representative of the Student Council (a.k.a. student government)
- Guitar (2yrs)
- Junior Scholars Program (a scholar program in my area, applying in sept.)
- Volunteering at the Hudson Guild (aiming for at least 80hrs this summer)
- Introduction to Business (CollegeNow, applying in august)
- Track Team (Winter)

Schools of Interest (so far):
- Penn State University: University Park (Current Top Choice)
- Penn State University: Hazelton
- Purdue University
- Michigan State University
- Oberlin College
- Bowdoin College
- University of Connecticut
- University of Maine

If I don't get accepted into University Park as much first choice, I hope to participate in the 2+2 plan and complete 2 years at Hazleton. I understand that Penn State considers the GPA, essay and activities as 2/3 of the admission and SAT/ACT as 1/3. Any suggestions in terms of things I should do to boost my chances?

bump bump bump

I’ll chance back.

Oberlin and Bowdoin - high reach.

Bowdoin is a pretty big reach! Good luck!

And get a tutor if you have the money! You’re going to want to give your scores large bumps!
