Chance an anxious, panic-stricken senior.

Hello. Please chance me for my top choices.
Boston University
Drexel University
Northeastern University
New York University
Syracuse University

GPA: Horrendous. Plummeted to a 3.0, which is a B.

SAT: Pretty bad. 1830 (Critical Reading: 680, Writing: 620, Math: 530)

Extracurricular Activities: Nothing extraordinary.
I've played piano at Kimmel Center, Dicapo Theater (for the American Fine Arts Festival), and Carnegie Hall (also for the American Fine Arts Festival competition)
I have placed first place in debate.
I won the Scholastic Art and Writing Gold Key Award, which is the highest.
I am working on a research study to publish in a scholarly journal. I have already collaborated with some organizations and students.
I have done political campaigning for the midterm elections last year.
I attended the people to people leadership conference last year.
I am helping in the construction of a charter school by contributing my research.
I am a member of the Book Club, Debate Team, Community Service Club, Foreign Language Club,German Club, and Literary Magazine.

And if you can, please suggest some safeties. Thank you!

And I expect my essays to be decent.

I believe your chances are a low match at Drexel and a slight reach at Northeastern. Boston University and NYU are reaches. Try Emmanuel College (which is in Boston) as a safety. And simmons.

syracuse is a match/reach

Boston University-reach
Drexel University-low match/safety
Northeastern University-match
New York University-reach
Syracuse University- low reach
You can try Penn State. I think you really have a good chance there!

drexel yes, but everything else isnt looking good. 530 in math is terribly low and 3.0 gpa is bad. sorry to be blunt but it is what it is. you better have a good explanation for this, and if you want to get into the other schools you HAVE to retake the sat, unless u took it 3 times already

I do have an explanation for the 3.0 (family and personal troubles) but it is not an excuse. I have a 4.0 for my senior year (so far) but that doesn’t matter at all to colleges, as they do not evaluate students based on senior year. As for the standardized tests, I’m taking the ACT’s in a couple of days, so if I do better on those, I will not send my SAT scores.

Boston University-high reach
Drexel University-safety
Northeastern University-high match
New York University-reach
Syracuse University- high match
