Additionally, when the time comes to report scores, please advise me: should I send both my SAT and ACT score, or just my ACT (the better one)? Thank you! :D

Looking good. They’re all reaches(they are for everybody). Good luck! Send both your scores.

Thank you! Anyone else? Bumppp

Can you be more specific on the universities?

Everything looks good and I think you have a chance of getting in to any of those schools, but your ECs lack a bit of a passion. I don’t know exactly what you’re thinking about majoring in, but you need to show a passion for whatever it is through your ECs. If you are thinking about becoming an engineer, then I don’t know start a math or even an engineering club at your school. It doesn’t even have to be about your major that you are passionate about. You can be passionate about anything. If you are passionate about giving to others, then organize a charity event or raise money to help the impoverished community in your state. These are just suggestions, do anything creative you want that demonstrates your passion. Good luck!

As international student, your chances in those top colleges are very limited and your sat score is a tad low, compared to plethora of asian kids scoring above 2350. Your EC is not special either, but that can change depending on what kind of research you did. If the research was in depth college research, your chance will greatly improve.

To add, if you are not retaking sat, ACT 36 might look better on your application

Yeah send the ACT, 770 Math is 25th percentile at CalTech.

Don’t worry. Just send in everything. Your ACT scores will trump whatever relative weakness in SAT (if any). You should have a good chance (around double the overall acceptance rate) for these schools. Just make sure you have good recommendations and essays.

You are really good, but doesn’t come across as convincing from what I could see here. Well, apart from your essay, you might get penalized in the more “holistic” universities, but due to your awards you are more likely to get into the more “specific” universities. Not sure 'bout MIT cos in recent years they are trying hard to create a “holistic” image.

low chance, take into consideration top schools reject people with equal if not superior credentials to yours

Thanks all for the feedback!

@Achilles, I’m trying to go the science/bio route, since that’s what I want to do with my life. I’ve done multiple lower-level science fairs (lower than ISEF), going to get a paper published soon, peer review for NHSJS, etc. Also summer research programs and 3 years of research and all. Does that show more “passion” for science? (I’m really not trying to challenge you or anything! Just honestly want to know what you think.)

@Skyrior, if you could clarify, what do you mean by “convincing”? Thanks :)
