Chance an Asian rising junior for Vanderbilt, NYU, Wellesley

<p>I'm a female Asian, class of 2012, interested in Vanderbilt (which I will be EDing to), NYU, Wellesley, Smith, American University, Michigan Ann-Arbor, and Boston University. I was just wondering if I'm on the right track.</p>

<p>Academics:
4.0 (UW), school doesn't do weighted. </p>

<p>Rank:
School doesn't rank, but probably top 10%</p>

<p>Scores:
None yet , but PSAT was 217. AP and SAT II scores should be coming in soon.</p>

<p>EC's:</p>

<p>-President/founder of women's equality club - We discuss current women's issues, and I organize volunteer sessions for the club at the local YWCA and women's shelters. Possible fundraising for women's organizations soon.
-Founder/editor of school literary magazine
-Treasurer for the Gay Straight Alliance
-French Honor Society/French tutoring
-Chinese classes since elementary school
-Asian Club
-DI (Destination Imagination, creative team problem solving)</p>

<p>Awards:
- National French Contest 2009, 6th in nation/3rd in region
- National French Contest 2010, 3rd in nation/1st in region
- 2nd at state DI competition</p>

<p>Community service:
- Science museum, weekends at tutoring program for inner-city kids, YWCA/women's shelters. Combined should be mid-500 hours.</p>

<p>You’re doing just fine. Keep up the good work, and don’t stress over college too much just yet. You’re still young and still have time.</p>

<p>Your extracurriculars and GPA, in addition to your awards and community service all point toward someone who would fit in well at Wellesley. Since you are a sophmore it is hard to tell your chances, but I suspect you will have a good chance if you continue in the same direction. Of course, I am unaware of the degree of rigor of your courseload and your SAT scores, but from the information you have given, you appear to be a good candidate. Good luck!</p>
