Please chance me!!

A first generation kid from ND? You have a good shot at all of these schools accept for Yale where you have a chance.

I agree. I put your chances for yale at 40%, and your chances for Duke at 78%. You're pretty much in at all the rest.

Good student, North Dakota, good hook with 1st generation...you have a good chance for all of these schools, Florida does not have that many OOS, as 95% are in-state, but you have a shot, and you should have a chance at Yale like the others said. I suggest you take the SAT. With a PSAT that high, who knows how well you could do on it.

You have amazing ec's and ur AP test scores won't matter. your SAT is incredible and your GPA ain't too shabby. In at all of them, except:

Duke: low reach
Yale: reach

Thanks for the replies!

The only thing that worries me is that I don't have very many extra curriculars. Most of them revolve around band, and I'm afraid that that'll make me look boring.

you did well in track (captain at one point), and you helped disabled children.
that balances things out a little bit, while still keeping music as the frontrunner which shows that you had a specific interest and you didn't just do a little bit of everything. it's a nice 6:2:2 ratio if you catch my drift

youre in at all of those except yale

chance me back at
<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/635725-chance-me-i-will-chance-back.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/635725-chance-me-i-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

You're in everywhere except Yale where you've got the same chance as almost everyone else. Man, I wish I lived in North Dakota sigh

What's so great about being from ND? It's not THAT isolated.

You may need a little more for Yale. Duke is possible. The Univ. of Florida will be difficult only because you are an out-of-state applicant. Much could depend upon your saxaphone & piano abilities. State awards in either can help at Yale. Although typically not considered for purposes of admission, your AP scores may create a less than scholarly impression at the most highly selective schools. Indiana University & the University of Wisconsin are well matched schools for your profile.

I've been to a couple admissions sessions where they joke about how they represent all 50 states except one of the Dakotas and then they ask if there's anyone there from that state. No one ever is and they always look disappointed. They want geographic diversity and you've got it.

People live in North Dakota??

In everywhere except for Yale and maybe Duke

May I add a few places?

UCSB
U of Washington-Seattle
Cornell (Iowa)
Morningside
Marquette

come on, bump
