<p>Hey there! march/April is around the corner, and I am getting extremelyyyyy impatient. I was wondering what you thought my chances of acceptance were. Some random information that may help y'all out.
- I completely forgot to sign up for a Vandy interview, so I didn't get one.
-I had an interview for Johns Hopkins. I killed it! Our 45 min interview turned into a 2 hr 20 min chat.
-I have a relative who attended Vandy.
-I am from Texas.
-I sent in my art supp. I'm actually quite good.
-I was accepted to UNC honors (but would much rather go to Vandy!) Hispanic female ACT- 31 SAT- N/A Rank- my school doesn't rank, but I am in the top 25% at a rigorous high school. GPA- 3.8 unweighted 5.24 weighted... top 10% cut off was at 5.25... Standard courses are on a 5 point scale, Dual Credit/ Pre-AP/IB courses are on a 5.5 point scale, and AP/IB are on a 6 point scale. Courses- All IB my junior and senior year, with the exception of a PE class and an AP Economics course... I make mostly A's- low A's with some high B's. ECs- recreational soccer (impressive, I know), National Honor Society, Students Against Destructive Decisions Club, Invisible Children (Junior year), Politics Club (Senior year). I also volunteer at a government funded dental clinic Recs- Pretty good... I chose teachers that I had helped out in some way and owed me a favor. My counselor rec was kick ass... She said it was the best she had written all year! Essays- Good, I thought. For what it's worth, I'll chance back.</p>

<p>Based on your stats, your gpa is a little on the low side (but full IB is impressive). Your URM is a major plus as well. Your EC’s are adequate but far from stellar. Your ACT sounds good enough (maybe on the low side) but should not put a damper on your application. I would not be surprised to see you as a blue jay or commodore! </p>

<p>I think you have a decent shot at Vandy though it’s still a low reach, and Hopkins might be a bit of a high reach.</p>
