Chance an international applicant

Howdy all members!

I'll just start with the stats and hold the jibberish.

SAT: 610 R, 780 M, 660 W
SAT2: 750 Physics, 740 Math 1, 800 Math2
GPA: 3.9 unweighted
Rank: top 2%
ECs: fellow in the co-ordination group of a non-partisan youth party, co-leader of the party's cultural committee
fellow in student government, hosting computer courses for elderly in own-started company
practicing karate

Recommandations: great I guess
Essays: they are good enough I hope

And please keep in mind that English is my third language.

Thanks!

I would say your chances aren't stupendous but they aren't bad either. Your scores could be higher but couldn't everyone's? ;] If English isn't your first language then it may not matter though. The whole starting your own business thing is pretty awesome. I would make sure to highlight that. So in conclusion, its a good application but it could be better (just like most everyone else's...) Pick up some more service work would be my advice but you definately have a chance.

bump10char

Your chances are low, unfortunately, because of your scores, unless you have very strong TOEFL score.

I don't think TOEFL scores mean anything. Or almost anything. They only show that the applicant can understand English good enough and that he or she is prepared for college education (linguistically). And it is true that applicants which first language is not English, are supposed to have lower scores. What could be mentioned is that the international applicant pool is much more competitive than the regular.

do you understand English good enough reptil?

sick burns. I love good vs. well grammar nazism. Let's keep it up and terrorize the world.

did you get any results from yale(or any other school for that matter) ? i cant send personal messages to you or write on your profile so :p
