Chance An International

Hey,
I have just completed my 11th grade and i am really depressed about my marks and stuff.(Since I actully Worked really hard) So I really want some motivation. Below is my profile.

Before anything else my parents can pay around 10 to 12 lakhs a year, and will definitely need some scholarship. So please tell me if i will a competitive candidate for scholarships.

Academics-

I know that my 11th garde marks look really bad but those are great scores at my school. They want to prepare you for IIT and board exams hence set very hard papers.(anything above 50% is considered an 'A' grade performance.

EC's

So basically I am interested in engineering or computer science programs, and Here is a list of colleges i am probably going to apply to (It is a rough list and is subject to change)

1)Stanford
2)Upenn
3)Ohio State
4)Univ Of Wisconsin Madison
5)Univ. of Southern California
6)NC State Univ.
7) Univ Of California-Davis
8)Univ Of California-Irivine
9)Michigan State Univ.
10)Arizona State Univ.
11)Univ of Colorado-Boulder
12)Univ of Tennessee
13)Iowa State Univ
14)SUNY-Buffalo
15)UIC
16)Texas A&M
17)Drexel
18)G-Tech

So help me out here and rate my chances in those universities with some scholarship, and also suggest some changes to my university list.

Also Tell me if My 9th and 11th grade marks have a bad impact on my application since they look low.

Thanks a TON....!

I’m afraid that Stanford is probably out. To be brutally honest, those low marks in 9th grade and 11th grade immediately rule out the top schools. But those ECs are pretty great :)

DOn’t give up

Stanford’s a reach for anyone, but no harm trying!! Just don’t let anything beat you down… you have potential in you and any college will see that:D

Being an Indian who wants to major in engineering or CS will mean a very tough application process… (Seemingly all Indian applicants I met personally or via CC seems to want to major in engineering/CS/physics… why?! just curious)

Best luck to you anyways.

@eightsquare2–yea man! tahts the problem… those grades look bad but are actually really good in my school

@tiger cubjy–thanks for the encouragement!! means a lot!!!

@lboss1223-- i guess In India only those are considered worthy or respectable !! but i have always been a science kinda guy so those are the ones for me:p
