okay. so first of all sorry for making you read! :) i'd love to know where i stand for admission. and yes, again, i am aware my gpa sucks, but my school is really challenging (one of the toughest private schools in connecticut).

I think you have an excellent shot. You have definitely outdone yourself in the extracurriculars area. From the look of your involvement, I’d say you must be interested in the Journalism and Mass Communication program, which is ranked as one of the top in the country.

Get your GPA up these next two years, though it sounds like you go to a very very very competitive and prestigious private school, so your GPA will be weighed differently because of the rigorousness of your courses and institution. Do you know if any other students in past year have been admitted or applied?

And you show an upward trend which schools love. This year is really important for you, KEEP YOUR GRADES UP! If you do well, UNC will not even look at your freshman grades. Most schools know their is adjustment gap from middle–>high and do not hold first semester up to students if they show that they have improved and can handle the work, which you certainly have.

SAT scores are competitive, but if you get them up in the 700s, I think you’ll be set.

Best of luck.

Why do you want to go to UNC? (I ask everyone this)

yay thank you! i actually want to go to unc for their fabulous business program and for their great creative writing program (i’d double major or major/minor). it’s also in a warmer climate (coming from ct), and it seems like, socially, a great fit for me haha.

also, yup i know a few people from my school last year got into unc, so hopefully we’re on their radar. :)

bumpppppppppp!

bumppp (again)!

Some of your ECs look impressive - like gold keys for literature and your performance/literature focus ecs. It definitely doesn’t look like you are trying to get them but rather doing something you are interested in.

Stat-wise if your not in the top 10%, hope you school doesn’t rank. That’s an arbitrary metric that schools seem to love.

SATs are okay for OOS selectivity. Higher scores (700+) would help you out.

Best of luck.
