Hi,
I'm applying to UCD for Fall 2010 as a community college transfer. I don't have a TAG, but that's because I didn't attend college for Fall 2009 or Spring 2010. I completed all of my requirements and got A's in every class except for the required math (statistics) in which I got a C. I completed all of my requirements in two semesters, and I'm an English major. Will the fact that I didn't go to school for the year right before I want to go to UCD affect my admission status? I applied last year and got in, but I couldn't attend UCD because I didn't get my transcripts and paperwork in on time, so I have a two-semester gap in my education. Also, would it be worth it if I applied to UCB? Do I have a shot in hell, what with my one-year gap and my lack of completed major requirements? Any input would be great, thanks.

if you got all A’s and one C in stat you should be fine for davis. apply to Cal also, they will scrutinize your gap a little more but if you’ve completed IGETC and the major prereqs you’ll stand a good shot.

good luck

explain how that year off made you more wise and how you learned from it.

they don’t want to see brilliance in every app, but improvement from state A to state B.
