Chance me for UCSB, UCSD, SDSU

Hi guys, so I heard different things from a lot of people and just wanted to know what you guys think. Im a community college transfer student with a 3.66 GPA. My major is pollitical science and I have no TAGS (didnt know about it). Im sure I will get into SDSU but Im wondering about UCSB and UCSD. I heard a lot of people say I wont get into UCSB because I dont have a TAG. I know my GPA is pretty low, but what are my chances?

It depends:
Have you completed IGETC?
Will you have completed 60 units by the end of Spring 2011?
Will you have your English/Math done by the end of Fall 2010?

If you have all those things done then I’d say you have a great shot at getting in to all of them.

By the end of spring '11 I will have more than 60 unit.
English is all done.
My one problem is my math, I wont have that done until the
end of Spring '11. Other than that, I have IGETC done.

That might be a problem. They really want you to have your math and english done by the fall, other than that you should be good.

How about your major pre-requisites?

My major pre-reqs are all done for UCSD
but I didnt know I would be applying to UCSB so I
dont have one class done for UCSB pre-reqs

o0o and my major pre-req GPA is 4.0 so far
…if that matters

I’d say for UCSB it’s probably not looking too great considering that you’re not going to have math fulfilled until Spring. I remember a lot of people getting rejected last year for this reason. My counselor somewhat acknowledged the significance of completing your “Golden Three” before Spring. She got me into a Summer Algebra 2 course so I could take Stats this Fall instead of in the Spring. Good luck though, I honestly don’t think your GPA is all that low so I think you might still have a decent chance. :)

Yea I thought that would be a problem.
I tried to get into algebra 2 during summer but
my counselor wasnt as nice as yours so she
didnt help and I couldnt get in.
