I'm Italian, so I'm really not used to the American school system etc. I would like to apply to Yale, it's one of my dream, but I don't know if I have the requirements at least to have a chance there. Well, I tell you some details.

In Italy there are different kinds of school. Liceo is the one that you usually attend if you plan to go to university. Liceos are three: one deeper in humanities, the other in science, the other in languages. I'm attending the first one. We all have to study the same subjects and we don't have AP, honors or something 'cause difficulty is told by the kind of school you have chosen. So I study:

Italian 4 hours per week (writing and literature)
English 3 (grammar and literature)
Latin 4 (grammar and literature)
Ancient Greek 3 (grammar and literature)
Philosophy 2
History 2
History of art 2
Maths 2
Physics 2
Biology 2 (but last year it was chemistry)

We don't have GPA but an average of our grades. I have a 7.5 out of 10, but it's something impossible have more than the 8 and something average (in fact we usually get scholarships or something if we have an 8 average).

My fear is especially the social activity thing because we don't have social activities organized by school and we are not supposed to to them if we don't like something organized outside school. And there's no many possibilities anyway (especially if you live in a town of 800 inhabitants like me). Then I don't know if I can consider these activities, so please tell me. Do they have to be proved in some ways?
Well...
-I've been captain of the volleyball team in high school (but also before). We placed second two times (it wasn't a big competition, just among schools of the area) and this year we are probably going to win it.
-I played volleyball also outside school.
-I worked for the office of one of my mother's friends photographing houses for her (she sells houses)
-I volunteered for a hospice
-I wrote a story published online for fun, but it got more than 30.000 views (can I write it for example?)
-I arranged by myself a national meeting of fans of Gilmore Girls (Will this sound ridiculous?)
-I played clarinet for a year and piano for three
-I wrote a screenplay for a national contest but I still don't know if I won something, and I'm going to enjoy another one. (Should I mention them only if I won?)
-I think I will set up a theater show written by me this summer, acting by children and kids, you know...
-I helped in library some times.

What else can I do to have a chance? Any suggestion?

What if we don't have a counselor in my school? Who can write the required recommendation letter? The headmaster?
Do I have to take a SAT II? Or is the ACT + writing enough?

Sorry if I made mistakes, I'm still working on my English.
