President of NHS
French club, Chinese Club, Mock Trial, FBLA, Environmental Club

volunteer teaching at a school in Kenya during the summer, probably what my essay will be about

GPA? Class rank? More information please.

GPA is 3.88, top 14 %

Is your GPA weighted or unweighted?
I think you have a good chance at Brown. They look a lot at ECs so being in that many clubs and being president of NHS will be really helpful when it comes to getting in. Also you’ve taken two foreign languages which sets you apart from most students who can only take one. Just a warning on your essay about Kenya: there will be lots of essays about helping underprivileged children. You need to make your essay standout.

Poor chances.

Not a good chance to be honest. When you say “top 14%”, I assume that means youre in the 86th percentile for your class? That is great, but not good enough for acceptance without special circumstances, and your EC’s aren’t “super” spectacular. Good luck though!

I have def. Taken the most rigorous course load, it’s just that soooo many people easy classes and get 4.0’s. It’s incredibly frustrating. I know, I should just get all A’s in hard classes too

But that’s something they take into account in an application though. a C in AP vs an A in regular whats better?

True, and the only B’s i’ve gotten have been in honors classes

But still, I figure I have a 0% chance off getting in if i don’t apply.
