<p>First post from a very anxious high school senior! Good luck to all who aspire to become part of BU's Class of 2017!</p>

<p>Immigrant (moved to NJ at age 12)
Public high school</p>

<p>SAT: 1960 (600 CR, 660 M, 700 W)
ACT: Did not take
GPA: 3.8/4.3 U.W. (~3.5/4)
Rank: 22/372
AP classes: US History (5), Environmental Science, Statistics, Lang & Comp<em>, Psychology</em>, Calc AB<em>, Economics</em>, Art History</p>

<p>Senior Sched: Fall Semester (Gym/Phys. Ed, AP Lang, AP Psych, AP Calc AB) & Spring Semester (AP Econ, Physics, AP Art History, TAPS - which is Teacher's Apprentice Program)</p>

<p>Senior grades (thus far): 97 in AP Lang, 94 in AP Psych, and 89 in AP Calc</p>

<p>Rec: 1 very heartfelt and well-written letter from my APUSH teacher from junior year and 1 from one of my school's vice principals. </p>

<p>EC/others: Varsity volleyball (4 years), Rutgers University Teen Summit for Climate & Environmental Change (1 year), NHS, Student Council Secretary, Homecoming Queen finalist, Heroes & Cool Kids (mentoring program in my state); my community service hours are all pretty much through these programs, part-time job since sophomore year</p>

<p>I also submitted separate applications for the Trustee Scholarship and the Kilachand Honors College - seriously just wanted to be involved in everything BU, since it is my top choice! I applied to CAS for History. </p>

<p>My essay topics were not relatively "interesting" or "unique" though I deem them highly personal, intimate, and reflective of who I am as a student, athlete, and history nutcase lol. </p>

<p>What do you think? Do I have a chance?</p>

<p>I have already been accepted to Rutgers U (New Brunswick, NJ) so that is my safety school. TCNJ is a bit more selective, but UMass-Lowell is another I hope to get accepted to. NYU is my other reach school alongside BU.</p>

<p>I have heard that BU has gotten more selective and I know that their ED applicants reached a record high. I don’t know if my stats are particularly good enough for these tight standards.</p>

UMass Lowell: Safety (it’s not any harder to get in than Rutgers SAS)</p>

<p>You do know that BU and NYU are both incredibly expensive, much more so than Rutgers or TCNJ?</p>

<p>Yes I know, I am aware of the tuition of all schools I applied to. It was my intention to apply to reaches, both academically and financially, after all.</p>

<p>Ahhh thank you… I’ve been so nervous because of the school getting more selective each year.</p>

<p>I also submitted an application for the trustee scholarship for BU. Any idea when the decision for it gets sent out? The wait is beginning to stress me out a bit.</p>
