my dad went to cc and mom went to barnard, my dads a class correspondance at columbia and donates ...nicely ;)...i have a 2190 sat and founded a community service club, varsity tennis, ranked player, science club, junior statesmen during summer, co ran a summer reading program, play violin in a few selective orch's, take most rigorous courses available at school.....whatdya think? (applying early decision)

PLEASE ANSWER...im a nervous wreck....

Well if you were applying to Fu you'd be in... But the college is more selective. Its a crapshoot but I think you have a good chance.

thanks...what do other people think?

pwease help me

Double legacy + $$ + fairly good EC's. I think you're in, but it might help a lot if you raise your SAT score. Good luck :D

Man I'm so jealous of people like you ... double legacy and donating $$. Good chance though, I suppose.

canucklehead , why did you say that Columbia college is more selective than fu fu foundation? do you know any facts?

yeah, im curious too, i always thought fu was harder to get into lol

excuse my ignorance, but what is fu?

Fu is the engineering school at Columbia that is relatively bad compared to Columbia college, and consequently easier to get into.

haha...sory for all u jealous people..im starting to feel a little better...columbias acceptance rate has goten very intimidating

does anyone know the legacy acceptance rate for columbia.........also.....does anyone know if grandparents count because i want to go to college somewhere in teh city and my grandparents both went to nyu

would anyone like to answer my previuos post?:) thanks

don't mean to be pessimistic...but isn't it kind of unfair for colleges to look weither your parents had done well at school...My dad's SAT is 1200 lower then mine...and my mother had never head the word community service in her life...but they have degrees. Oh college admission councelors...can't live with them can't live without them sigH

Fu has an acceptance rate upwards of 20% and almost 45% for ED.

College has about a 9% acceptance rate.

That is why I say Fu is easier to get into.

it really isn't fair to base admission on your parents and grandparents.
you should work hard to get in and not rely on others

either way, its clown college for you miss

perhaps fu applicants are more self-selective than cc applicants?

Your mom going to barnard won't especially help you any...it doesn't make you a double legacy. Although barnard and columbia have affiliations, they are considered separate. your dad going to cc does certainly help though.
