<p>What are my chances at Duke?
I am a junior. I go to one of the best schools in the country (considered top 10 in the country according to newsweek and a bunch of other sources)
GPA: out of 4.0 its a 3.89 (from freshman and sophomore year). After this year it will probably be around a 3.87?
All of my classes are honors, and we can only start taking APs and IBs junior year and I take:
Chemistry
AP Chemistry
Physics
Biology
AP Calc AB
Latin
IB Lit
IB History
Civil Engineering</p>

<p>Senior classes:
AP Stats
IB Lit
IB History
AP Psych
Linear Algebra
Latin
Engineering</p>

<p>Scores:
Highest ACT: 33
Highest English: 36
Highest Math: 35
Highest Reading: 32
Highest Science: 31</p>

<p>ECs:
Fencing: Varsity since freshman year, 3rd place freshman year at district freshman/sophomore tournament, 1st place at district for weapon this year, 5th place individually at county tournament, 9th place individually at district tournament.
Model UN: Since sophomore year, won outstanding delegate at Yale Model UN and Honorable mention at WAMUNC.
National Honor Society
Biochem research: I do research at my schools lab with RNA and gene expression, and will hopefully be published within the next few months.</p>

<p>I plan on applying ED to Duke next year. Oh and I plan on majoring in chem/biochem.</p>

<p>Community service: I was a counselor at a camp for inner city kids for 2 weeks
I also took a chemistry course at Columbia over the summer.</p>

<p>Seems like you have a good shot. Fencing won’t really help you that much unless you’ve posted national results but everything else is very solid.</p>

<p>yeah im still training for fencing, and hopefully will be competing at a national level soon.
Oh and I got an 800 on my math sat2 level 2.</p>
