Thanks guys! let me know what i can do to add to my resume!

You certainly have excellent academics considering your class rank in a very competitive prep school and ACT score. If you take the SAT, you’ll want to score at the least a 2300 to be competitive at some of those programs. I know Northwestern requires SAT Subject Test in Chemistry & Math so be sure to do well on those (770+ at least).

Also you’re extracurriculars are very good, lots of leadership, achievement/dedication shown with robotics, good service geared towards medicine. Doing research is certainly something you want to pursue. Programs like Brown PLME and Northwestern HPME are some of the most competitive programs in the nation but it appears that you have set yourself up well applying to these programs. HYP and others are also within range.

Good luck, hopefully you can keep it up through when you start applying.

thanks very much man! i will definitely pursue the research as you mentioned.

anyone else have anything?

You need research.

Since you’re going into med. you essentially have everything going for you except research, so, I’d definitely recommend doing that this summer. With that in mind, you’re essentially a shoe-in for a lot of colleges, granted, getting accepted into an Ivy is always a crap-shot. I think you’ll be fine though. :)

Chance me back?

bump. any other suggestions? thank you all!

I’ve applied to a couple research opportunities. anyone else have any other suggestions? or know of any good research opportunities? (preferably in Michigan)

All of these will be incredibly tough. Your scores should be off the charts as an unhooked Indian candidate, and your ECs need to be world class for this list.

so i’m thinking about founding (restarting actually, its been dead for two years) the future doctors of america club at my school. we would likely hold fundraisers and donate several thousands to local hospitals, and host trips to retirement homes, etc.
would this help?

and how tough are those choices really? what are my chances if i get a 36?

bump. anyone?

bumpp please

There is virtually no difference between a 35 and a 36… there’s not even a significant difference between a 34 and a 36, even at the highest tier schools.

Your academics are fine, but without any medical ECs it’s going to be pretty tough. Good luck and PM me with any questions!
