@cinnamon1212 I think you are right in general, in that most PGs have not already been admitted to a college the spring before they begin their PG year; but that’s not the circumstances we are discussing here.
This is a no brainer. You will do fine at Andover. And you will be admitted to Harvard. you will then do fine there as well. Do not overthink this.
I know of a similar situation at Princeton.
Yasser El Halaby was a phenom squash player in Egypt, and was interested in Princeton. Bob Callahan was the head coach of Princeton at the time, and suggested that Halaby spend a year down the road at Lawrenceville as a PG. Halaby went onto lead the Lawrenceville team to a championship, and then the next year was recruited at Princeton.
This is a good sign. Apply to Andover as a PG, you won’t regret it.
@cinnamon1212 thank you so much for the kind words and the offer.
@Muko1212 Can I ask you what PG stands for?
Post-grad. I.e… They graduated from another HS and are attending a year it a boarding school.
The US Naval Academy accepts student athletes conditioned on attending designated certain prep boarding schools and on performing appropriately (95% acceptance rate as some drop out or otherwise do not meet expectations).
16 prep boarding schools are listed.
Need to read all of the FAQs in order to understand the process.
I concur with @cinnamon1212 .
@Muko1212 - congratulations and best wishes on your journey.
