Those are low SATs. Everything else is very good. If you can meet your SAT goal, I’d say you’re in good shape.

I agree with handemom.

Any suggestions on how I can raise my scores and should I take 2 SAT subject tests that are recommended?

The best way, I think to raise your score is to take as many practice tests as you can stand, and maybe a little tutoring in the areas you have the most trouble with. As far as subject tests, they aren’t necessary, and if the scores are in the ballpark of your current SATs, I’d say don’t bother (I know kids who were accepted with no SAT 2s).

Another option is looking into the ACT. Maybe it’s a better test for you.

ALSO, discuss the discrepancy between your SAT scores and your GPA with teachers and guidance college, and ask whether your teachers and/or GC might be willing to include comments in your recommendations which support that your SAT scores are not reflective of your classroom performance and/or ability. Have you ever been tested to see if you have a visual processing disorder or something similar that might inhibit your performance on standardized tests? This might be another option: anything to objectively document that your SAT scores do not accurately reflect your ability to perform in the classroom would be helpful.
