Chance at UPenn CAS ED and other schools? Will chance back!

Hi!

I'm thinking about applying to UPenn CAS ED this year, so here are my stats. Please chance me! THANK YOU

Some of you may recognize me from another chance thread I made for Wharton. Wharton is my dream school, but it is so hard to get into haha I'm keeping my options open, and I may apply to CAS economics...These chance threads play a part in helping me decide, so they are pretty important to me hehe

I have a weird situation where I repeated 10th grade (not because I couldn't keep up lol I was always younger than everyone in my class. Complicated~ I repeated 10th grade when I transferred schools, so I have 2 10th grade records)

Scores:
PSAT: 209 sophomore year, 213 Junior
SAT: M-770, CR-730, W-800. Total-2300
SAT II: MathIIC - 800, USH - 700 (might not use this if possible), Planning on taking Chem and/or physics, and Chinese
AP: USH - 3 (bleh..i hate history), Micro-5, Macro-5, Chinese-5. Don't know about Stats and Lang yet. Planning on taking Chem, Calc BC, and Physics next year.

GPA unweighted:
At my first and smaller school (G9, 10) - 3.9. We actually used the IB/MYP scale, but my transcript gave a GPA as well.
My new and MUCH more competitive and larger school (G10, 11) - 3.79
So when I average up all my GPA, I get 3.82, but don't know what the colleges will do with this.

Schools I may apply to:
Upenn CAS (ED)
Brown
Georgetown
University of Notre Dame (EA)
U of Chicago (EA)
Cornell
Northwestern
UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC San Diego
Duke
NYU
Washington U. in St. Louis
U of Southern California

Honest opinions please~~ I don't mind if you're harsh, as long as it's honest hehe Thanks in advance!

Upenn CAS (ED) - low reach/reach
Brown - low reach/reach
Georgetown - high match
University of Notre Dame (EA) - low reach/high match
U of Chicago (EA) - ?
Cornell - reach
Northwestern - low reach
UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC San Diego - ?
Duke - reach
NYU - match
Washington U. in St. Louis - ?
U of Southern California - ?

You have really great stats and should definitely get into a lot of those schools. Schools like Duke/Brown/NW/UPenn are gonna be reaches for just about everyone. Write an essay about changing schools and repeating 10th grade and you’ll have a great shot at UPenn.

Chance back?

I can only comment on UPenn but in my opinion you should without a doubt apply ED. Your stats are great, even with the 10th grade issue. Write strong essays and ED for sure. I think you are in!

Hmm UPenn, Duke, Brown, and NW, Id say youll get into two or so of those. The rest are matches, except maybe Berkeley.

Thanks for all the opinions so far! >.<
I’m just a little worried about my GPA cuz it’s pretty low for UPenn…does UPenn weigh GPA heavily? Do you think my GPA will affect my chances that much?
Thanks again everyone~~

Reasonable shot an Penn ED if your rigor and rank (they will figure one out) match your scores.

You can always transfer into Wharton you know? I think you can get into UPenn CAS and some of the others.
Do not write your essay about changing schools/repeating a grade…seems a bit ordinary in my opinion, and your scores and ECs are anyting BUT!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/761559-junior-how-improve-my-chances.html

Your EC’s are really great, SAT is good and APs are great. Your GPA could use some work, I have no idea if colleges will average out your GPA like that, they may just pick one of the two 10th grade grades.
I think you have a really good chance at most of those schools, especially NYU. I’m assuming you live in California since you’re applying to so many UC schools, so I think your chances at those are better than average as well. Get really good SAT II scores and I think you’re chances will really really improve. Brown, Cornell, and Duke are reaches, as they are with everyone, but they’re not impossible. Good luck!

Actually, I live in China but am a US citizen…so…not so much luck haha

I go to an American school in China now. I used to go to an international school which was the school that was much easier lol

Interesting ECs and solid test scores; I’d say you have a pretty good chance

Thanks to all so far! bump~
