I'm mostly shooting for politically active liberal arts colleges (Brandeis, American, William and Mary, Depauw). My reaches are RIDICULOUS (Middlebury, Harvard, Columbia) and I know I'm not getting in, but a girl can dream yeah?

I've also taken Arabic for four years and it's what I want to study (All of the schools I'm applying to offer it in some form), will this make me more competitive?

I've got mediocre scores and scanty EC's (because I basically didn't start thinking of college until Junior year) but will schools still be interested in me? I'm not sure because my college counselor is awesomely supportive but he's only 22 and I think he may be too optimistic...
