You should know that all the schools I labeled “reaches” for you are essentially reaches for 99% of applicants. However, you have a reasonable shot at all of them, so don’t put yourself out of the running, you’ve got to run the race to win the prize  You are a very qualified applicant - it will all come down to your essays; if you kill the essay, you’ll have an awesome shot. Best of luck!

thanks that makes me feel better! i was worried that my list was too ambitious so that’s why i added rochester and bc, but my college counselor keeps assuring me that i should get in to one of the ivies, that would be my dream! and i thought applying ea to georgetown would show my interest and maybe increase my chances, but i’ve read threads that pretty much say applying ea to georgetown doesnt really help

p.s. one of my teachers let me read the letter of rec that she sent and it was extremely great, i know that sounds arrogant but i was shocked how much detail she included, so should that help?

bump…promise to chance back!

solid applicant overall
nearly all are reaches cept for nw, gtown, bc, roch, swarthmore

your ecs will kinda hurt since they’re not really involved and no special ec either. the ivy applicants generally pad their apps with ecs so if you can get something up before apps, it might be able to do the trick

That’s pretty accurate but you stand a chance at the Ivys with those credentials and a killer essay you might be able to get in

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1012320-best-school-these-credentialss.html

good shot at all of them…ivies are ivies though so theyre hard as it is but all of your credentials and scores are great. I’d say in at gtown northwestern rochester duke but the ivies are tough

your scores are all really good. however you haven’t shown that much commitment with regards to your ecs. Perhaps try organise something with your club to show more involvement. You could also do some voluntary tutoring, and list that instead of being paid.

just to clarify, all of the tutoring is free. i work with one 6th grade girl three nights a week, that’s been for two years. been doing a teacher/mentor program with low income family students for two years, 12wk/yr 3hr/wk. also random tutoring with my own high school. all three are separated on my activities chart for common app.

and this year i was named head of lighting for my lighting and sound crew, but i’ve already sent off my common app so i’m going to ask the advisor whos writing me a letter of rec to mention that…

do you think that helps?
