Hey there Michael! I’m not really qualified to chance you, so I just wanted to ask you a question just so other people can judge you fairly. Are you applying ED2, considering it’s your dream school, or are you applying RD?

The SAT score will hurt. Did you choose the CGS option?

It is my dream school, but I don’t think I want to apply ed because financial aid would be a big part of my decision. @ab2002

@TomSrOfBoston I have heard of the CGS, but I’d have to research it a bit more as an option. Do you know how much applying CGS would improve my chances?

You can choose the CGS option. If you are not admitted to your first choice program you may be admitted to CGS.

Be wary of he CGS option and make sure that it is something you are ok with. It’s very structured and it was something I would have never considered. It depends on the kind of person you are. I took a chance, knowing if I didn’t get in, I would be miserable in CGS anyway. Just make sure it’s for you.

It depends on how bad you want to go to BU. If you do not choose the CGS option and you are not admitted to your preferred program you are out of luck.

Just an FYI, I am not sure if my son selected the CGS option 2 years ago, but if I had to guess, I would say he did not. When he applied, it was for one of the biology majors in arts and sciences, 4.6 w gpa, 3.8 uw gpa, 2010 (old SAT)/1370 (old SAT), and he was offered the Guaranteed Transfer option. He did not take that offer, but it could be considered thoughtfully.

@Michael6655 I AM ALSO A JUNIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL RIGHT OW AND PLAN TO APPLY ED TO BU IN NOVEMBER2018 THAT TOO FOR THE BUSINESS SCHOOL AND BEING AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT MY STATISTICS ARE KIND OF DIFFERENT BUT I THINK THAT IF YOU ARE NOT PLANNING TO RETAKE THE SAT OR APPLY ED THEN THE SCORE MIGHT BE A LITTLE PROBLEM . KEEP IN TOUCH ?
