I am a junior. My unweighted gpa is a 3.5 weighted 3.9. Ive taken the SAT and scored but a 2300, but Im sure I can do better. I've taken four subject tests Math I,II, Bio E, and spanish and I've scored above a 760 in all 4. Looking at engineering or computer sciences. No financial boundaries. Applying EA i am in the top 15% at my highschool .it is very rigourous and we are a blue ribbon school. (according to my guidance counselor) Colleges acknowledge that my school makes it exceptionally difficult for students to succeed, and i do follow an upward trend from freshman to sophomore and the trend shoots up to junior. I'm indian if that matters

Oh sorry I meant ed. but my gpa is only low due to two courses in which I received c-'s in both. I know it’s my fault for taking them but I’m sure that Cornell will see that everything else if high. And I need more responses please

^clearly, ED is not for since u couldnt answer the above question. He meant which college within cornell are u applying to. E.g College of engineering or college of arts and sciences

Ha, you are a little lost as to the types of people who frequent CC. Most of us are overeager high school students or parents of kids currently/previously enrolled. I don’t have experience except that gleaned from reading posts on this forum, but I would say you are a reach/possible low reach ED- sound academics and volunteering, and a good mix of EC’s (I like the marketing officer and youth lead things), but nothing screams engineering. You seem to be a very outgoing person with activities that are a near perfect match for AEM, however. If you don’t mind me asking, why are you applying to engineering? You will have to explain this phenomenally well to be accepted- it is the most selective school, especially for guys, and other applicants will have activities/classes that showcase their clear fit.

Also, you are missing the point of ED. You can only use it once. This means that you apply to your absolute favorite school. It will not help you at ALL if you aren’t very very passionate about Cornell, as you are competing with a pool of applicants who love the school and will therefore be able to write fantastic supplement essays. You need to do a ton of research to decide if the school is really for you and what part of the engineering department makes it your first choice.

Yeah thanks for that. I am interested in engineering mostly because I’ve always enjoyed math even though Ive never been good at it. It’s the field that I truly enjoy. Aside from that I wouldn’t have another reason to go in to engineering. People have always told me to go into law because Ive always shown interest in politics, global affairs, and good fashioned debate, but I thought about how that fair in the future and I realized I wouldn’t enjoy it as much as engineering
